Re: software copy protection
The software copy protection SDKs or companies charge alot of money to protect your software so unless you have a huge budget to purchase this type of protection your best bet is to use a product key that you can trap when it is illegally used. Here is a cheap version of a key protector - http://www...

Re: Allen Bauer has officially left Embarcadero
I know that some of the older crew from Borland/Inprise/Codegear/Embarcadero have taken a buy out package and went on to different companies but to be honest, people are replaceable and I do not think Idera paid that much for a company to let the products demise otherwise that would be foolish. Ider...

Re: No more Appmethod
I rather see the January roadmap for 2016 then to see ideas on paper. Once you get the roadmap you have a pretty good idea where the product is heading for at least the near future.
Everything seems to be in slow motion at this point.

Re: December 2015 Developer's Poll
Has anyone noticed that over 40 percent are using out-of-print C++ Builder books ? Why hasn't anyone written a book in the last several years on this product ? There isn't even an ebook. I really wonder how many are currently using C++ Builder. It seems there aren't huge numbers even voting on the p...

Re: Is there a problem with Embarcadero forum?
The Community web site is brand new, the EDN will be revamped based on discussions with some Embarcadero tech folks. The reason for the Community web site was to get rid of the QC Windows Application for reporting bugs and start using the new Portal. A wish list for a new EDN would be: 1. Get rid of...

Re: RAD Studio should have a Linux Build
I know that Kylix cannot be used what I meant was that they did do it before and could do it again if they wanted. Does the market want them to do it that is the bigger question. At the moment as you have stated, the Linux Server is on the roadmap for 2015 but I would not hold my breathe to see whet...

Re: RAD Studio should have a Linux Build
Since Embarcadero owns the Kylix code base, does anyone think they would bother to revamp that for the client/server or just go with the server side? I know on the roadmap the LInux Server support is coming but who really knows what that means. It would be great to have one compiler and one source c...

Re: How can I learn C++ Builder?
Thanks, I am already doing that. It seems the last good C++ Builder programming books were back at version 6 and nothing after that. Personally I still think programming books play a major role in helping developers in picking up new stuff or just plain old reinforcement.

Re: How can I learn C++ Builder?
What was the best C++ Builder book available ? I read some reviews that Bob Swart C++ B 6 book was not that good, but it seems that nothing has been written on the compiler since 2003, is that true does anyone know ?

Re: RAD Studio vs C++ Builder (Enterprise Edition)
Rad Studio Enterprise on my end provides me everything I need to develop software for: 1. iOS 2. Android 3. Macs 4. Windows Using features such as DataSnap (maybe this is a feature you may not use), FireDAC (database components which is worth the cost). All in all, I had the RS Professional package ...
