September 2015 Developer's Poll

Postby Damon » Sat Oct 17, 2015 9:37 am

This month's question is a very interesting one provided by Curtis Krasuskopf. In light of the recent revelation that certain VW diesel vehicles were fitted with a so-called “defeat device,” this month's poll question surrounds software ethics.

Have you ever been asked to write software that did something unethical? Please post your thoughts below. You can also email or PM me if you'd like your experiences posted anonymously.

Thanks in advance for your votes!

Story of my life....
Since 1988 I have been asked in countless occasions.
Till 2004 "French language" served well as reply supported with the fact that there were only a few of us and all followed the same ethics.
After 2004 though many newcomers doesn't follow that ethics and enter the market.
For me at least I have no regrets. If they asked me again I would give the same answers using the same language even if the person asks is close to me.
That is and why I am no longer in my country but in the UK.
