Announced externally, yes, but I cannot find any mention of it on Embarcadero's websites, or in their online store, or anywhere yet.2ffat wrote:Embarcadero has announced a new Starter Editions of C++Builder and Delphi Rapid Application Development Environments.

Thanks for the update!2ffat wrote:Here is Embarcadero's announcement and purchase link.
Reading the feature matrix, I saw that, among many things, in the Starter Edition, International Development
has some missing features

Also, it's interesting to note that the Starter FAQ says (http://www.embarcadero.com/products/delphi/starter-faq)
Starter FAQ wrote:Can I upgrade from Starter to a higher edition?
Yes. As a Starter edition user, you're eligible for a discount on Professional, Enterprise and
Architect edition products. You can open your Starter edition projects in any higher edition.

which is $200 cheaper than going directly for a new user license of Builder XE Pro ($900).

Re: New C++ Starter Edition
Was all excited when I saw this but discovered it is only for Windows 32. Thought I could justify spending $200.00 but a little disappointed after seeing it won't create a 64 bit app.
Not dinging Embarcadero am sure the full version is worth the cost, just can't justify it for what I need to do.

Re: New C++ Starter Edition
The above data is a bit dated. They are now taking orders for XE3 which does 32- and 64-bit.

Re: New C++ Starter Edition
Only Delphi supports 64-bit development. C++Builder does not support it just yet. That is coming later.2ffat wrote:The above data is a bit dated. They are now taking orders for XE3 which does 32- and 64-bit.
