My browser doesn't able to connect to Embarcadero's forum,is there a problem with that forum or is it my computer's "fault"?

Thanks for your answer. Maybe they are doing some maintenance work or something...
Re: Is there a problem with Embarcadero forum?
Today when I try to connect, it gives this message:
"Site Maintenance In Progress
Forums is currently undergoing maintenance, and will be back online as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience."

The forums have been down for a week now. Embarcadero is still working to fix it. I don't know what is taking so long. It was down for a few days and came back up on 8/13, but then it went down again and has been down ever since.Awareness wrote:My browser doesn't able to connect to Embarcadero's forum,is there a problem with that forum or is it my computer's "fault"?

Thanks for additional information.

As of right now, the forums are finally back up, both NNTP and Web. Let's hope they stay up this time.

Yes they were up,but seems like forums are down again.

Yup. They have been down, again, for the past couple of daysAwareness wrote:Yes they were up,but seems like forums are down again.

Something must be seriously wrong with the server or the database if it is taking this long (several weeks now) to fix and stabilize it.
If they had to scrap it and start over from scratch, I hope they don't decide to drop NNTP and go all web-based.

I see Embarcadero has a new Community Web Site. Unfortunately, I can't register because it says I'm already registered and I can't log in because it says I'm not registered.

It is not new, actually. It has been around for awhile.2ffat wrote:I see Embarcadero has a new Community Web Site.
The Community is tied to EDN, so you have to use your standard EDN credentials.2ffat wrote:Unfortunately, I can't register because it says I'm already registered and I can't log in because it says I'm not registered.

Maybe I should have put "new" in italics. According to RAD NewsFlash:
Take a look and come join the conversation on the new Embarcadero community platform. We have a totally rebuilt community platform for you to immerse your self in. Contact our experts, interact with other developers and database professionals all over the world - ask, learn, teach, entertain and connect… it’s YOUR community after all!
That was what I was trying but it didn't work. Today when I tried it again, it did work. Still buggy? The Community is tied to EDN, so you have to use your standard EDN credentials.

Re: Is there a problem with Embarcadero forum?
The Community web site is brand new, the EDN will be revamped based on discussions with some Embarcadero tech folks. The reason for the Community web site was to get rid of the QC Windows Application for reporting bugs and start using the new Portal.
A wish list for a new EDN would be:
1. Get rid of any reference to Codegear, just brings up the bad old days. They still pop up here or there.
2. Allow the user to select what versions they want to see for updates or downloads instead of viewing the entire EMT library. I am no longer using RadPHP.
3. Handle the exception errors that the web site gives to the clients, it is plain ugly when a software house doesnt fix these types of bugs.
4. Quicker response time when selecting menu options.
Maybe someone else has more ideas on fixing the EDN?
